Our History

Ante (“Tony”) Cibilich is the epitome of the American Dream. Tony was born in 1932 and raised in the small fishing village of Duba, Croatia located on the Pelješac peninsula. He dreamed of a better life, applied to immigrate to the United States, married the love of his life, Anka Štuk from a village nearby, and in May, 1960 was finally allowed to immigrate to the United States, where he settled in New Orleans. Nearly two years to the day, Anka was allowed to join him. With no money or  knowledge of the English language, he was able to find work as an oyster fisherman before being hired in a fabrication shop. Tony was well respected and quickly worked his way up to the supervisor position. Soon thereafter, he and Anka had their two children, Paula and Anthony.

Tony’s hard work paid off and in 1974 he started his own machine shop. At the time, C&C Machine and Manufacturing, LLC had two machines and only 2000 square feet of space. But due to Tony’s excellent work ethic and exceptional drive, he went on to make C&C Machine one of the most respected machine shops in the New Orleans area. Now with over 50,000 square feet of total workspace, 17,000 of it covered, C&C is equipped to handle any job.

Tony’s commitment to his community, birthplace, and especially family has never wavered. C&C has always been and continues to be a family-owned, close-knit shop. At this time, Tony’s son-in-law, Ivo, daughter, Paula, and two grandsons, Luke and Jonny, run C&C. This family team, along with an excellent staff, work together to continue Tony’s dream of providing excellent quality and outstanding customer service to all of our valued customers. We have been fulfilling his dream for over 45 years!
